Well ladies and gentlemen, I got the gig to do hair for the feature film. I am very excited about the whole thing and just trying to learn as much as I can. I have learned such a great deal in week of shooting that it just so amazing.
Everything first of all is happening at such a fast past you can easily miss something if you are not detailed. You start really early in the morning (which is not new) then you hurry and get everyone ready, then shooting begins. The days are very long and most times you are sitting not doing anything but it is so rewarding especially when you are working with people are the creme de la creme in their professions.
But even though you are dealing with professionals, there are lots of moments of fun and hilarious stories as well. I will share one with you now and tell you guys the rest later heehee.
We were sitting by the sound guy when one of the actor's friends was sitting around watching the whole process. The actor is a well known rapper and this girl was obviously new to being on set. No problem. Everyone including myself, is not familiar with all aspects of being on set and its process.
She was sitting on the side of the sound guy when she taps him on the shoulder and asked, " excuse me...is this the audio-ology section?" He looked around with this confused look like "did I just hear what I thought I heard? Then after collecting his thoughts, looked at her said, " no this is the sound area...which hood are you from?"
I swear we couldn't contain the laughter from that point on and for the rest of the day, that was one of the running jokes.
Will keep you posted. heehee

AMAZING FIRST WEEK IN LA
What a flight!! The first 20 minutes was fine till all of a sudden the turbulence came out of no where. It was so bad that the pilots told the hostesses to stop cabin services and take a seat. I just couldn't bear it any longer so I just closed my eyes and went to sleep. When I woke up we were almost in LA and everything was fine till we landed.
As I left the baggage claim area, this short, little, unassuming guy came up to me a flashed a badge. "You are not in trouble sir, I just want to ask you a few questions." In my head, "What the f%&k!" He proceeded to ask me questions like why am I in LA, where do I live, how come I don't have any bags, do I have large sums of money on me, can he see my id, etc. I guess from my expression of don't give sh#t, get away from me little man attitude and the fact that he couldn't find anything on me frustrated him. Look you stopped me dude!!
Anyway I took my id back and put him and his Napoleon syndrome behind me, then went to my ride. That was my Tuesday cause of course I missed the flight on Monday and had to leave early Tuesday morning. Did I forget to mention that in the beginning of my story? loll.
That afternoon, I had a wonderful meeting with an Agency and felt pretty good about the whole process.
The next day out of the blue, the Agency called me and Thursday I was on a commercial shoot for TGI Friday's! It was a great experience cause not only was I listed as the hairstylist for it, come to find out it was one of the best commercial production companies in LA. Was a great experience!!
Friday, as I am still on my high from Thursday's events, I received a text about a movie being shot and they are looking for a hairstylist. I sent all my information in and Saturday I got a call that they would like to meet with me on Monday!!! Wheeee!!!
